Bernama Melaporkan:
KANGAR, April 27 (Bernama) -- A security guard claiming to have worked 36 hours at a stretch was sacked by his employer four days ago without giving him proper notice.
Khamis Tehak, 54, who was stationed at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Syed Hassan here for more than a month, alleged that his service was terminated only through a phone call from his employer on Sunday.
"I was told not to come to work anymore as I had been replaced by someone else," he said, here, today.
Khamis who lives in Pangsapuri Seri Sena, was unhappy with his employer's action and reported the matter to the Manpower Department on Monday.
He said the department advised him to continue working as there was no official letter on the termination of his employment.
However, Khamis said when he went back to work, his employer instructed him to write a resignation letter and asked him to go home.
"My employer alleged that I failed to record my patrolling time and had fallen asleep on duty on the night of April 13 after I did the 36 hours of
duty," he said.
He claimed that on that night there was no electricity due to a fire at one of the school''s buildings, and two colleagues also failed to write a report but were not sacked.
Khamis said he had now lost an income to support his wife and four children aged 13 to 26.
